Sarah E. Price, M.A., RPA

Sarah Price has over 19 years of experience in archaeological research in the southeastern United States,  and  has  authored  numerous  technical  reports,  professional  publications,  and  papers.  Some of her recent publications include the edited volumes Investigating the Ordinary: Everyday Matters in Southeast Archaeology, and Contemporary Lithic Analysis in the Southeast: Problems, Solutions, and Interpretations. She has also published articles in peer‐reviewed journals such as Southeastern  Archaeology,  American  Journal  of  Physical  Anthropology,  and  Mississippi  Archaeology as well as two edited volumes through the University of Alabama and Florida presses.

Ms. Price’s research specialties include lithic analysis and environmental archaeology. She has directed  or  co‐directed  a  number  of  large‐scale  archaeological  projects,  including  survey  of  56,000 acres in northwest Florida, a linear survey of 40‐miles of new right‐of‐way for the Alabama Department of Transportation, thematic studies and large‐scale surveys for the Alabama Army National Guard, Phase II testing of a number of sites across southern Alabama, large scale site mitigations on Alabama’s coast and Section 110 work for the Corps of Engineers. She also works as a consultant for other firms conducting specialized analyses of lithic assemblages from across the Southeast.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE

Prior to joining Wiregrass, Ms. Price worked for the Coastal Environments, Inc. from 2012 until 2013 and the Center for Archaeological Studies (University of South Alabama) from 2005 until 2012 in various archaeological positions. While in school at the University of West Florida, she was employed as a teaching assistant for the Terrestrial Archaeological Field Schools from 2001 until  2005,  and  a  classroom  assistant  during  the  2004  school  year.  She  also  worked  at  the  Archaeology Institute (University of West Florida) as a field and lab technician, crew chief, field director, and Principal investigator on a variety of cultural resource management projects.
